I usually use Wahl clippers, and I recently noticed that the springs have started to stretch on one of them. I tried to replace the springs and it’s more difficult than it looks, so I’ve been using my older pairs. Digging through my supplies, I realized that one of tne of the other pairs I own never worked properly. Thankfully, I talked to the lady at Wahl, she said that they would take back the guard combs that don’t work properly. So I can send them back to my supplier who will send them on to the Wahl, and they will credit me. Problem solved! It’s another reason to use a name brand, I suppose.

Returning Pet Grooming Supplies to the Manufacturer
Monday, February 23rd, 2009Pet Show for Pet Grooming Suppliers and Pet Owners
Sunday, February 22nd, 2009The inaugural Ultimate Pet Show which opens at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre, (NEC) on 2nd May, has announced a late incomer to its stable of sponsors: Petplan, an insurance company for dogs and cats. This will be a neat add to the show this year, and as I think they offer a great product, I’m hoping they get some news coverage.
Pet Groomer Charged With Piercing Kittens
Thursday, February 19th, 2009A woman who marketed “gothic kittens” with ear, neck and tail piercings over the Internet has been charged with animal cruelty and conspiracy. How can a pet groomer ever justify this action?? I can’t imagine unnecessary animal piercing doing anything other than causing infection, or at the very least irritation, to the unsuspecting victim. I hope this article sets an example to those who want to try the same antics!!
Pet Grooming Supplies Company Offers Pet Sitting
Sunday, February 15th, 2009Pets of all types can find a new best friend in Colleen Hoffman, who has launched Sit N Comb — a pet-sitting and grooming supply business that serves Charolotte, Brookston, Field Ground and Otterbein. I thought this was a neat twist on a traditional business!
Steel vs Plastic Pet Grooming Supplies
Monday, February 9th, 2009‘blades’. Maybe once in a great while one will see the light of day and beput on a clipper… but mostly it’s the #10 blade and a SS comb.
One thing with the SS combs: you can NOT use a #40 blade under the SS combs. The reason is simple: the cutter of the #40 blade is set too far forward and will snag teeth on the SS combs. You can kiss your #40 blade good by if that happens. So besides changing to the SS combs, you will have to change out whatever blade you use (that is IF you are used to using a #40 blade with your snap on combs.) At first I was using a #30 under them, but my #10’s work just as well, and less changing blades on the clipper. Maybe I’ve just gotten lazy? Most of my dogs are fluffy, and with my clipper vac I can still get the same lengths pretty much the same as with a finish blade…so no use to use a “blade”. So yes, maybe I am just getting lazy!
SS combs are by far better IMO than the plastic, so much so that I’ve don’t really even use most of my
Woman Barters Pet Grooming Supplies on Craig’s List
Sunday, February 8th, 2009Diane Aviles had big plans when she purchased 17 cages, two pet tubs, a grooming table and some cabinets. But in this economy, the funds just “weren’t there” to open up a pet grooming and boarding business. So Aviles decided to barter her equipment worth ,000 on Craigslist in exchange for a good-running RV. Many locals are doing the same during these tough economic times.
New Taxes Affect Even Pet Grooming Supply Companies
Saturday, February 7th, 2009Golf course owners and some of their customers are teed off at Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. So are auto mechanics, amusement park owners and pet groomers. Expect prices to rise for the ‘unnecessary’ pleasures in life as the Governor tries to expand his tax base!
Pet Grooming Supplies for Nail Grinding/Pedicure
Sunday, January 25th, 2009Various models of the true Dremels, those from Sears and a few other
national merchandisers each have a maximum speed setting (some of them
don’t have more than that one speed, but it totally depends on the model as
to how many RPMs it cranks out).
After moving 3 yrs ago, I have not ever found my 2 grinders from sears,
rechargable 14V (I think). I gave up and bought what seemed like a decent
package deal from Lowe’s a few months ago. Lowest speed is 7000.
Dangerous !!! in more ways than one.
Pet Grooming Supplies and Phone Advice
Thursday, January 22nd, 2009I know that if I use a cell phone while working on a dog, the groom
takes significantly longer. That alone is a good enough reason for me
to keep that to a minimum! There are a (very) few people I’ll chat
with for a few minutes, but my day goes much quicker and smoother if I
don’t chat on the phone. Never mind the fact that I can SEE a
difference in the end result, which tells me I can’t multi-process as
well as I thought!

Employee/Employer Question: pet grooming supplies
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009Crisis resolved! I had a talk with Dave-the-Slave a few minutes ago about
managing cell phone use and internal dialogue and he got it. Thanks to this
forum, I was very clear in my thoughts, and was able to deliver the issues
non-judgmentally and concisely. Thanks everyone for sharing your ideas and experiences!
