Pet Groomer Charged With Piercing Kittens

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

A woman who marketed “gothic kittens” with ear, neck and tail piercings over the Internet has been charged with animal cruelty and conspiracy.  How can a pet groomer ever justify this action??  I can’t imagine unnecessary animal piercing doing anything other than causing infection, or at the very least irritation, to the unsuspecting victim.  I hope this article sets an example to those who want to try the same antics!!

Quit Day Job to Give Pet Grooming Courses

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

After much prayer and consulting with my husband, my friend went ahead and gave her 2 week notice at work yesterday. Her boss was pretty upset. Her boss gave her a huge guilt trip, but my friend pointed at that in the six months she’s been there her boss has had one MAJOR life event in her life right after another. So my friend finally decided she couldn’t handle it anymore! She explained her reasons for leaving and even offered to stay a couple of days a week until her position could be filled. Now she can follow her real dream, which is to open a pet grooming school. Go Roz!

Dog Grooming School Takes Care of Neglected Pups

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Nearly a dozen of the dogs removed from a suspected Gold Bar puppy mill got a much needed bath and haircut Tuesday. It’s probably the first time in the animals’ lives they received such special treatment, officials said.  Grooming was donated by a local dog grooming school, as dealing with the half wild and neglected pups was good exercise for the students.  The school was also glad to offer up their services to help the dogs find good homes!

Dog Groomer or Dog Grooming School in WY

Monday, February 16th, 2009

I have a customer who moved to Evanston, WY. She just called me that her mini poodle is matted from all the snow and the shop she called told her she had to comb all the mats out before they could work on it. She simply wants it trimmed with a 7 or 5 all over for the winter. Anyone out there who is close and would like a new customer?  I thought maybe if someone even knew of a good school where she could get a cheap trim for it.   Leave me a comment?

Pets of all types can find a new best friend in Colleen Hoffman, who has launched Sit N Comb — a pet-sitting and grooming supply business that serves Charolotte, Brookston, Field Ground and Otterbein.  I thought this was a neat twist on a traditional business!

Pet Expo Showcases Dog Grooming Schools

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

With miniature horses greeting visitors as they entered the Conexus Arts Centre, it was obvious a different breed of trade show was being held on Sunday.  Tables were set up for all kinds of pets and pet owners, including several different dog (and cat!) grooming schools.  There was truly something for everyone!  I’ll definitely be back again next year, and am considering getting my own table set up.

Grooming School for the Winter Months

Friday, February 13th, 2009

I heard a  Zoo Director talking about caring for your pet in the harsh winter conditions.  Even if you don’t own lions or zebras, all pets need a little extra care during the winter months.  If you can, winter is the perfect time to take a grooming class or go to a cheaper grooming school to get your pet cared for, as their furry coats will only go so far!

Dog Grooming School Says: Pet Piercing IS Animal Cruelty

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Humans who love body piercing have taken their love of barbells and rings to their pets. But would these same people allow others to modify their bodies without giving consent?  A local grooming schools published a statement in the paper recently stating that pet peircing IS animal cruelty, after seeing more than one pooch come through with bars and hoops through their ears.  “It’s obvious that these peircings are purely ornamental, and we’ve seen more than one peircing lead to infection, which can cause a slew of other health problems.  It’s painful for the animal, and unnecessary, and so we consider it animal cruelty and pet owner’s shouldn’t be allowed to do it.”  I agree!

Grooming School Owner Works Cat Show

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Ellie Radzovitch of Hampstead gives Pixeldust, a Seal Lynx Point Himalayan, a grooming at the Dover Cat Show at the Middle School on Saturday.  It was fun for the kids to watch an expert groomer in action, and the kids all got to give at least one of the cats a pat on the head too.
